The Full Metal Jacket example realy illustrates the problem. When you remove Born to Kill from the helmet, youre not making content safer, youre destroying the films entire meaning about duality of man. Amazon treating these pieces as disposible marketing assets rather than cultural artifacts is whats most troubling. The lack of transparancy around these edits compounds the issue.
