I usually answer the "police ahead" message with the opposite of the truth. If the police are there, I answer that they are not. If they are gone, I answer that they're still there. It's a lie. My bad feelings of guilt over lying are more than balanced by my good feelings that lives are saved when we reduce speeding. That's my free speech, and thank you for supporting it. And thank you, anybody, for not speeding, whether the police are there or not.

The reason FIRE is now the preeminent free speech protector, is that the former champion of free speech, the ACLU, figured out it was orders of magnitude more profitable to become a partisan wathr-carrier for one side only.

If an American government, of whatever Party or parties, violates the First Amendment, please, call them out. Call out Biden's censorship of social media, and call out Trump's attempts. Don't become the ACLU.

Regardless of which "side" they claim to be on, the First Amendment is always on the side of the American people, who have the right to think, say, and worship without fear of government sanction.
