Thanks for being on top of this! And shame on Eisgruber for his combination of negligence and apparent deliberate misrepresentation of FIRE's work. Like so many of his ilk, he has a huge axe to grind, and it is something other than actual academic excellence.

I just wanted to say this was an important article for me. I have been concerned recently that FIRE may become biased one way or the other. I really appreciate that FIRE is being this transparent about its methodology on rankings of colleges. I would simply urge FIRE to continue its transparency in its decisions on what areas of free speech it is focusing on. I am hard right but freedom of speech and conscience is the hill I am actually willing to die on. With Trump in office FIRE will naturally have to fight against overreach by his administration - please try hard to prove to myself and my opposite numbers on the left that FIRE is an impartial referee. That is my simple advice. Keep up your great work!!
