All the tech giants are literally backing this bill. This isn't so they can save their own skin. . Meta, the company that owns facebook, is now helping write KOSA and this act. This is after years and millions of dollars trying to oppose it.

Meta is supporting this now supporting this legislation, it fought against with millions of dollars and many years.

This is this because meta now is going to be immune from lawsuits for actually harming kids and adults with explotative algorithms.

Meta should absolutely be responsible for that. So it very much bothers me that senator Blackburn is saying that kids are being killed... but then works with the killers.

That the same, the same people sponsoring this legislation are some of the worst and want the unknown constitutional obscenity police to come back. The same with the evilness of Ken Paxton and how free speech coalition versus paxton. Took an an axe to the constitution.

What do we do? Where's the money? And how can we change its mind?

Thanks for the write-up. Good gravy, this is legit hard to stay on top of. I needed a summary and recap:

tl;dr: The KIDS Act is an omnibus container that folds in at least 14 previously-standalone child-safety bills:

- KOSA (Kids Online Safety Act) — social-media duties + default features (Title II)

- SCREEN Act (Shielding Children's Retinas from Egregious Exposure on the Net) — adult-content age verification

- SAFE BOTs Act (Safeguarding Adolescents From Exploitative BOTs) — chatbots (Title IV)

- Safer GAMING Act — the video-game title

- plus COPPA 2.0, SPY KIDS Act, Safe Messaging for Kids Act, No Fentanyl on Social Media Act, AWARE Act, Safe Social Media Act, and others.
