It may (may) be the case that outside influence is being exerted simply because there is no influence *within* the university structure. So efforts to institute change cannot happen internally. This does not excuse heavy handed interference. But the topic has more nuance than black and white statistics.

Treating it as “one censorship each” when the Left tries to end the career of someone who says that a male in a dress is still male and the Right tries to defund the Department of Let’s Kill Erica Kirk Too doesn’t seem like a fair equivalence to me.
